Panjereh Foolad (Steel window)

According to historians, the reason of building these windows was that pilgrims who couldn’t reach the Zarih, stand near these windows to be closer to their Imam, pray, and speak to him. The oldest window was built in 1414 under the command of Shahrokh Mirza Teymouri. It is in the nearest place to the Zarih. The name Panjereh Foolad is taken from the oldest one.

Among pilgrims, Inqilab courtyard’s Panjereh foolad is the oldest and the most famous than others. There are other steel windows in the other courtyards and porches of the holy shrine.
